Emergency Procedures
This chapter covers potential problems that can occur on a live
lane.
The Network must be working
perfectly for communciations from the Back
Office to the Lanes to work.
- The software
interfaces to the POS hardware, Scanner and Scale, Printer, Cash
Drawer, Touch Screen, Debit
PIN Pads through
other layers of software (drivers) that must be installed and
setup properly to work.
- The Lane software can only interact
with the POS hardware when the appropriate option in the Lane Configuration screen is enabled and configured properly.

These Options are contained in the 'Configure Lane' section of the Options
- Cashout
screen.


- The configuration screen is only available to Cashiers with Supervisor and Manager options enabled in the Back
Office.
- Touching the buttons next to the option button will
provide some further diagnostic functionality where
provided.

- If the PC, Network and Lane Hardware are all functioning correctly
then the Lane Software will be fast and reliable in service.
