Lane Functionality problems

Lane Acting Unpredictably.

The Lane's database may be corrupted, or communications to the lane's server may be interrupted or the Lanes PC hardware or software systems are damaged.

In any such case, call for technical support from your POS Software Vendor

No Response to Touch Screen

If the lane is frozen and/or does not respond to touch you should call for technical support
OR

The Touch Screen cables could be loose or disconnected, so check connections as much as possible before calling for help.

If authorized, at this point, you can try rebooting the lane by pressing the reset button on the lane PC.

If the Lane PC  Restarts, then Log In and try to work normally.

  • If the lane hung in the middle of a sale, the last sale will be found by automatically when you Log In again.
  • If nothing happens or the software still crashes, or the touch does not work,  you will need technical support on site.

If the database is damaged beyond repair then the Lane will not start and is considered DOWN.

  • Call for technical support/repairs.
  • If this is a remote Lane and the lane is DOWN make the Lane Inactive from within Back Office  - Setup - POS Lanes/Lane Network – Set ‘Active Lane Flag’ on the appropriate Lane to unchecked (OFF).
  • Save the Lane data and then Stop and Restart the Polling Scheduler.

  • Don’t forget to reactivate the lane in the Back Office once it is back in use!
