Reporting, Front and Back

Money taken for payments is listed by media (Cash, Debit, etc.) type on the Lane Cash Out and Back Office Financial Reports.

These reports can be run by Date Range, Lane Number and Cashier.

Remote lanes are only capable of reporting on their own internal figures and have no knowledge of other lanes sales.  Sales for all Lanes are consolidated in the Back Office.

Below is a sample 'All Cashiers Total' report from a lane.

  • This is printed from the POS Printer on each lane.
  • No consolidated lane reports are available from the lanes.
  • Consolidated reports are only available from the Back Office software.

  • Cash, Charge and Debit Card payments are added together to make a ‘Bank Total’ for deposit balancing purposes.
  • Separate Charge and Debit totals are provided as well as the Grand Total to be deposited.
  • Drops to the safe amounts are recorded only and are included in the Bank Total.
  • The cashier's total 'Drops' and money left in the cash register drawer should balance to the 'Bank' total, after the initial float is deducted.
  • All other information on the Cashout Report is 'Information only' and included in the Grand Totals.
  • A Breakdown by Department and Hourly Sales is included at the end of the report.
  • Separate Item and Controlled Item reports are available.
  • Reports can be consolidated over a defined period of time. (IMPORTANT - Note a 'Rebuild' from a clean lane operation will delete all sales polled to the Back Office)

The consolidated reports at the back office are compiled automatically at 1:00 AM or anytime by running the POS Lanes/Run End Of Day' operations from the Back OfficeSoftware.

On a live system with Remote Lanes, Unattended Polling should be running at all times, unless for any reason, it is required that the lanes not update the stock levels on the back.

  • It is recommended that the polling frequency be set to the Number of Lanes multiplied by 15 minutes.

(So for a 3 lane store, polling should be scheduled to run every 45 minutes, if close to real time inventory is required.)

  • If real time inventory levels are not required, polling can be set to poll every hour or less frequently as required.
  • Sales Data can be updated at any time.
  • As the polling runs, it will display information as to it's progresspolling the lanes.
  • Raw sales data is compiled into smaller tables for ease of reporting, from the information that has been polled from the lanes.
  • Choosing a date range will result in the report tables being recompiled for the inclusive date range.
It will add any new information from the lane, prior to compilation if it exists.
  • If no lane sales data exists, no attempt will be made to compile sales data for the day.
  • Stores in geographical regions with unpredicatable power should not have unattended polling running.

To see the consolidated Lane Report in the Back Office software, from the Main Menu, select 'Store - Sales Summary Reports - Financial Report.

  • Select a date range and click on the 'Print' button.
A Calendar will pop up when you click on the Date lines.
  • Click Print to view the report.
  • The Report can be sent to the printer by clicking on the Printer Icon. (Top left of report)

  • Repeat the same procedure for other reports, choosing the report you are interested in seeing from the options available.
