Item Inquiry Functions

If an item will not scan or entering the lookup (PLU) code does not bring up an item, then the Item Database can be searched by Department, Shelf Code or UPC/PLU.  Touch the 'Product Lookup' button to see the Search Screen.

Initially the lookup will bring up all of the items in the database.

  • Search for an item by Name, Department Name or Number, Shelf Code or, if a customer is attached to the sale, by Customer profile.
  • There are two numeric columns at the end of each item record.
The first displays the current stock on hand.
The second will display the number commited to sell in Held Sales or Deposit sales.
  • The difference between the two is the stock immediatley available for sale.

Use the touch key pad and the top, search criteria buttons to locate an item.
Type in the criteria on the key pad, then touch Name, Dept, Shelf Code or Customer Profile to view your search results.

  • Touch 'Cancel Lookup' to exit the Inquiry mode without selling an item.
  • If an item is scanned in this mode, it will not be placed on the receipt but will display on the list if it is found. This acts as a Stock/Price Inquiry function.

To sell any item using the inquiry screen, touch it's line on the inquiry, the 'Qty' button and quantity if more than one, and finally, the 'Sell' button.
