Monitor/Pole Customer Display Setup
The eStream POS lane software relies on the Windows Monitor
Setup to be configured correctly.
The cashier operates a Touch sensitive screen in all
cases. The transaction is clearly shown so that it can be seen by
both customer and cashier on the same monitor if need be.
Not all store Lane designs accomodate a single display well so,
optionally, a Pole Display or
additional VGA screen can be added to the system so that your Customers
can see the
transaction in progress easily from their position at the Point of
Sales.
- The VGA
Customer Display is an option requiring
one additional VGA output on the Lane PC.
-
Install
the VGA adapter or adapters required to produce two VGA
outputs.
-
Configure the
VGA adapter drivers accordingly so that dual VGA output is
supported on an extended desktop with
a recommended resolution of two 1024 x 768 screens.
- The screens do not have to support the same resolution and palette and will maximize
to a larger resolution if set. Graphics for the customer display have to be
designed around the final screen resolutions however.
Use the Windows 'Display Properties/ Screen Resolution Settings' screen to set the
resolution of the monitors.

- On an extended desk top, properly configured you should then see the
desktop stretch across both monitors.
The lane software is designed so that the Customer views the secondary display and the Cashier works on the Primary touch screen.

- Connect the Cashier's Touch Monitor’s
communications cable to any free Serial COM Port or USB Port, depending
on the monitor's make.
- Turn on the power to the Monitors.
- Install the Touch Monitor’s driver software for USB or serial drivers if
required.
- Configure and calibrate the Touch Screen monitor.
- Any touch system that supports an extended desktop, with the touch area
definable will work with this software
Activating the Customer VGA display on the
lane.
Finally, after the screens have been setup, the touch
tested and calibrated, turn on the option for the VGA customer
display.
- Log In as a cashier with 'Allow Cashout',
'Supervisor' and 'Manager' permissions.
- Touch the 'Options - Cashout' button.
- Touch the 'Configure Lane' button.
- Touch the 'Dual Screen' button so that it
shows 'ON'
- The 'Check Setup' Button previews the main pictures that will show on the Custmer
Display monitor.
- Touch Save/Exit to restart the Software.
