Lane Software Setup

It is important that the Lane PC be named correctly and an admin user be setup prior to downloading and installing this software.

The software requires that an MS SQL Server be setup to provide the 'Back End' Data Base for it.

Normally the Lane should be a dedicated terminal on the network with all security options applied, but for small businesses, or learning and evaluation, one Lane only can be installed on the same machine as the Back Office software.

POS Lane Installation Instructions:
Both of the above download links are required to setup a new POS Lane.

  • Click 'Run' on the requester that appears after you click on the 'Download' link.
  • Allow sufficient time for the download to complete.
  • Click 'Run' on the requester that appears when the download has completed.
  • Keep the default path displayed by the installation routine.
  • Click on the 'Next' button each time the button is displayed.
  • Click the 'Close' button when the installation has completed.
  • Double click the 'eStream POS' icon on your desktop to start the software.
  • Please note the POS Lane software is designed to be used in conjunction with the 'eStream Office' software.
  • Integrated Credit/Debit card payments authorization are available through Mercury Payments.

When the Software has installed you will see a (Green Dollar Icon) as a Shortcut on your Desktop. ;

  • Double Click on this Icon.

The First Time the POS Lane software is run, it will present a screen that allows the setup of the POS Lane to use an MS SQL Database. 

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2  (Express, Standard or Enterprise Edition)  is recommended, but the 2005/2008 versions are also supported.

When the Lane and its data have been properly configured, the Start Lane screen will appear as a  fixed Strip at the top of your PC screen.

To start the Lane Software, touch the 'Lane' button on the Start Lane' strip.
