POS Lane User Setup

The following is a suggested standard only, which we advise you to follow so that your software can be supported. If you are unsure how to do this, ask a qualified technician to help support your system.

If you require service on your system then your PC Technician will need to know the User Account Log In Name and Password combination for the affected PC.

  • Setup the an admin user name (e.g. MANAGER) on each PC in the system. (Windows - Control Panel - User Accounts).

  • MANAGER must be a local administrator on all PCs including the Back Office.
  • Set a password on the MANAGER user to the same password on all machines

Setup Manager to Log In to Windows Automatically on the Lanes.

To Set the Lane PCs to Login automatically to the ‘MANAGER’ User:

  • From the Windows Start button, Choose Run from the Program menu and type in the words
    control Userpasswords2
  • Click OK.

  • You will then see the Advanced User options.

  • Select the MANAGER User line.
  • Uncheck the 'Users must enter a user name..." option.
  • Click Apply
  • Enter the MANAGER user name and password (qazwsx1 as suggested) setup for that user.
  • Click OK
  • Click OK on the User Accounts screen.
  • Reboot to test the Auto Login works.
