Void
Operations.
A Cashier has to be
given permissions to use the Void, Error Correct and Void Sale buttons
using the Cashier Maintenance routine in the Back Office.
The Void Sale permission is part of the 'Supervisor'
permissions. Void and Error Correct can be set by their own
flags.
Voiding an Item within a
Sale
- Touch the item in the receipt list on the cashier screen and then
touch the ‘Void
Item’ Button.
The
highlighted item will then be removed from the sale.
- If the item carries a Deposit, Fee or Linked PLU then those items also
will be deleted.
A Deposit, Fee, or
Linked PLU can be voided separately if just the line for that linked
item is touched.
Immediate mistake correction. (Error
Correct)
- If you touch the
‘Correct’ button immediately after selling an item, the last item ONLY and
any linked items will be removed.
- Touching this button
again without making another sale has no effect.
Void Sales, Voids and Corrections do
not appear on the Customer receipt, but they do appear on the Cashier
Financial Reports for the Lane.
- An
Error Correct made during a sale
is included in the 'voids' section for reporting purposes.
Voiding a Sale
Sometimes, in the course of a sale, a customer will change their mind
completely, walk out, or not be able to pay for the goods. If you have a Supervisor’s
permissions then you will
be able to just touch the ‘Void Sale’ button.
- This removes the sale completely and starts a new
one.
-
If the cashier is not a Supervisor, they will have to call a Supervisor
to enter a code.
- This option also works with a Magnetic Swipe Card encoded with the Supervisor Number.
- As an option the Cashier can hold the sale, and later ask a Supervisor to Log In,
retrieve the sale and Void it, if a supervisor is not immediately available.
- The Lane issues a ‘Void Sale’ receipt with the amount of the
Void On it.
Held Sales will be voided automatically after 2 business
days saved unless they are made a 'Quote'.
- Quotes are voided after 30 days.
- Quotes are not available to the Back
Office.
The Back Office reports also show Voids and Void sales by
cashier.
An analysis of
Void Sales and Voids
for any Cashier can be obtained also by using the built in Sales query tools in the Back
Office software.
- (Store - Sales Details - Query Transactions) Using this tool, various options can be
set to filter sales data for
report analysis.
