Multiple Label designs can be created and
stored for each type of label you wish to print in your store.
A working design
has to be created before you can build and print a batch.
- The Design information contains the design details (appearance of the label)
and name of the design.
- Each batch of labels to print is assigned a design.
- The batch information contains the data required to print each label.
- Label data is then 'Built' to create a batch for
printing based on a particular design.
- After a batch of labels is printed, the batch can then 'Cleared'.
Basic steps to Printing a label are:
- Select the design you want to print.
- Clear out any old print batches.
- Build data into the print batch.
- Print the batch.
Batches can be built using the following options, by;

Using the Label Form
'Build Labels Batch' options.
To start the process, choose 'Labels and Signs/Store and Customer Labels'' from
the Menu
Choose a Design by clicking on a 'Label Design Name' in the list shown:
(Batches of individual labels are contained within the Label Designs)
- If the Batch already has some labels in it, you will see the below Tab Option appear.
- Click the 'Clear Batch' button to remove
any old Labels in the batch.
- If not, only the Build' and Designer Tab options will appear

- Once you have cleared a Label Batch you will be returned to the original selection
screen.
- Select a Label Batch Name again to continue to the Build option.

There are now 4 options supplied which make building in the data
for a batch of labels to print automatic.
- Choose one of the following options on the 'Build' Tab option:
- 'By Date Changed' - This option is provided
so that the user can build labels for all changes made over a period of time. Once those labels have been printed
and cleared for any one day, the label batch will not print the same items again.
- By Category Design Preset - This prints
all categories where the Category has been allocated a Design in Setup
- Item- Categories
- By Item - This option allows fast keboard or scanner
entry of indivifual item barcodes.
- By Item Range
The user can build a batch of labels based on parameters supplied to the Range boxes
on the Window. e.g. Just labels for the MixMatch group 2 in Store 1 could be built.
If the 'Special Type' is chosen as part
of the range then, if a special price is on the Sales Item, the Label will show
the special price.

- As each input box is chosen, a range of possible choices
is shown above for convenient reference.
Double click on an item in the list to choose it or just enter the numeric code
in the box.
- When you have selected your options, click on 'Build
Batch' and your label data will be built according to the options choosen.
- When the Batch is built you will be automatically redirected to the 'Items Print'
Tab option.
Here, the details for the label batch are shown in a
spreadsheet type layout.
Items in the batch cannot be edited, only removed from the batch.
Batch Build Option -
Selecting items individually from the Inventory List.
- Choose Inventory/Item Maintenance to open the list of
items.
- Select an Item on the 'Active Items' List
- Click the 'Labels' Tab Option to see a list of Label
Designs.
- If more than one, click on the design that you wish the selected
item to go into.

- You will see an 'Add Label' button and Quantity
entry box.
- Enter the number of labels
required in the 'Qty' entry box.
- Click the 'Add Label button to add the label to
the selected design batch.
- The process can be speeded up for multiple label entries by selecting the 'Double
Clicking...' check box.
- Go back top the Active Items List and Double click on any item for which you want
a label.

- Repeat this as required, your batch of labels is then
available to be printed from the Shelf Labels menu option.
Batch Build Option - Creating a Label
batch from the Inventory/Batch Pricing routine.
The Batch Pricing routine is a fast way to effect multiple Cost, Gross Margin and Retail Price
changes on many items at a time.
Once the batch has been built and you are happy with it,
the entire batch can be sent to a Shelf label design, so you don't have to manually
create a label for every Price Change within the batch.
- Select the required batch from the 'Batch List' Tab Option
- Select 'Labels' Tab Option.
- Choose from the list of
designs.
- Click the 'Make Labels/Signs' button to create the Label Batch.
Batch Build Option -
Creating a batch of Item Tags from an Invoice.
Some suppliers do not have barcodes on their products.
Your choice then is to either give such items a simple lookup code
that is key entered at the POS, or print a barcode on a tag to attach to the item.
Using the Vendors/Receivings Option it is possible
to create a tag for every item that comes in on an invoice in one step.
- Open the Vendors/Receivings form.
- Select the Invoice that you wish to print tags for.
- On the left hand side Inventory Items List, select the 'Labels' Tab Option.
- Select the 'Print Tags from Invoice option.
- Check the 'In House Only' flag to avoid printing barcoded tags for items
that have a pre-printed barcode already.
- Select the Design that carries the Item Tag design.
- Click 'Add Label'
- If there are individual 250 items on the invoice then
this will create a batch with 250 labels ready for printing.
- The time to create a batch will vary according to the
size of the invoice as each
label record is created individually.
Batch Build Option -
Creating Customer Barcode/Address/Packing Labels.
The routine in Customers/Customer Maintenance is similar
to the one in Inventory/Item Maintenance, whereby customers can be picked from a
list and a label created one at a time.
Labels created by this routine can contain the customer's
POS ID in UPC barcode format, your Store's Name and the Contact Name for the Customer.
To see all of those fields on the label, in the design , activate the 'Info', 'Size', and 'Barcode
BC' boxes.
If the 'Make Address Label' option is selected, then the
Customer's name and address only will be sent the Description box in the Label design.
To print address labels, just have this one box selected and expanded to fill the
label.
In Customers/Customer Maintenance,
- Find and select the required customer from the 'Active Customer' list Tab Option.
- Select the 'Labels' Tab Option.
- Select the Label design for your customer labels.
- Click the 'Add Label' button to push the customer information
into the label batch.
Batch Build Option - Creating Customer
address label batches.
The Customers/Loyalty Functions routine creates a batch
of customers choosen by using the 'Search Setup' parameters on the form.
For instance, if you wanted to send a mailout to all customers who have spent more
than $100 since Jan 1, you would create that batch of customers then make address
labels from that batch.
The Customer's name and address only will be sent to the
Description box in the Label design.
To print address labels, just have this one box selected in the design and expanded
to fill the label.
In Customers/Loyalty Functions,
- Setup the parameters on the form under the 'Search Setup' Tab Options
- Click the 'Show Search Results'' button.
- More Tab Options will then appear.
- Select the 'Address Labels' Tab Option.
- Select the Label design for your customer labels.
- Click the 'Build Label Batch' button to push the customer
batch into the label batch.
