This section covers the process of printing either Shelf Labels,Signs or product
tags for Items in the Store.
The Label module works by building labels into a design 'Batch', printing them
and then clearing the Batch, leaving the design on file for next time.
- First of all a label or talker 'design' is created and saved.
- Thereafter, a batch of items can be attached to that particular design for
printing.
When a batch is printed up, it is then be cleared out ready for the next batch.
- Stores usually have one design for all the shelf product labels, but many
different designs can be kept on file if required.
The labels can be printed using any standard windows 8.5 x 11 printer.
The following size label formats are incorporated -
- Across 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5
- Down - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15 or 20
- (Landscaped or Portrait orientation)
- This allows for a Full Page, Quarter Page,or print Six to a page signage, and many
smaller different label/tag matrix options
- These various formats all fit on a standard 8.5" x 11" page.
We recommend the use of a laser printer for labels, ink jet printers are often
slower, more expensive to run, and the label ink is not as permanent.
- The label and talker designers are very flexible, allowing you to vary the
positioning and size etc. of different fields on the label or sign.
- A UPC or EAN barcode can be incorporated onto the label if the item has
a valid UPC or EAN code.
- True Type Barcode Fonts (UPC/EAN) are installed when Cash Register Manager
is installed.
