To open the Inventory Item list, choose Inventory - Item Maintenance from the
main menu.
- The Inventory Item list is the main database for items in your store.
-
When the list opens, at the top, is the count of the total active items in your
store.
The program lets you find items by UPC, Shelf Code or Description,
depending on the initial selection shown above.
- For a wide search, simply select one of the sort options and scroll down
the list using the mouse scroll button or by dragging the right hand side scroll bar with the mouse.
- The list can be sorted by clicking on any column header for an ascending or descending
sort of that column,
- Column Headers can also be re-ordered by dragging them into different positions
using the Left Mouse Click/Drag process.
Searching a long list, even using the above utilities, can be time consuming so
we provide a 'filter'
by Store/Type or Category, Mix Match Group or Vendor.
The filter is so named because it only allows items common to your selection to 'filter' through to the list.
To setup the list by a common group, click on the 'List Setup' Tab Option
and then select the group or combination of groups that you wish to filter the main
list by.
- Click the Use/Refresh Selection button to apply the selected filter/s and return
to the list.
- Click the Show All Active Items button to remove all filters and return to the list.
- Printing the Selection will show the same items on the Printout as on the List.

- If that is still too cumbersome for you, then you can search by Description
(or a partial description), Shelf Code or UPC/PLU.
- Select a Sort Option, then enter the search text/number into the search box provided
and press Enter on your keyboard.
- When in UPC/PLU mode, items can be found using an attached Barcode Scanning device
to enter the code into the seartch box.
Double Click, Click on the pop up Edit Item button or Press Enter again on the selected item (row in the list) and the Inventory Maintenance Editor will appear setup with
the selected
item.
Changes can then be made to the item and 'Saved' back to the list.
The Top Left ' <>' Button toggles between narrow and wide mode.
The list always first opens in the above 'Wide Mode'. 'Narrow mode' is shown
below - the Inventory list and Editor are next to each other rather than overlapping.
-
When the list is in Wide mode, and an item is in the Editor, it will be disabled until Item in the Editor is Saved
or the Editor is Exited.
When in Narrow mode, the List will be enabled all the time - so beware! - this can
be more convenient, but you can loose some work if you are not careful - clicking
on the list at any time before clicking the 'Save' button will reselect the last,
or
a different item, loosing any
changes you have made.
