Events on the system have two main functions:
The first is to provide support for Flyers and Instore Special Event pricing where
the prices need to be changed automatically by date.
The second is to create a Log or Diary for the system where comments can be entered,
that appear on the Daily Summary reports. This function can help in the later
analysis of sales report history.
Choose Inventory - Event Maintenance from the Main Menu.
This will open the Event Maintenance form.
- To start a New Event - Click the 'New' Button on the Event Maintenance 'Item
List' Tab option.
- This opens a New Event Information screen.

- Fill in a title for the Event and the Starting and Ending Dates for the events.
- Clicking on the 'First Day' or 'Last Day' Date Line will pop up a calendar.
- Then enter the Special Type and Zone to which this event will apply. (Zone 0 = All
Zones)
You can now start adding items to the batch.
- Items can be added either as a Mix Match Group or as
an Individual Item.
- To add a Mix Match Group, Click the 'Mixmatch' Box in the light orange section of
the form.
- Select a Mix Match group from the list.

- Edit the group section to give it a Special Price to be applied during the Event,
then click on 'Add Group'.
- Each Item in that Mix Match group will then be added to the event with the Event
pricing applied.

- Individual items can be added by either selecting them from the Item list or entering
the Barcode/Shelf Code directly into the PLU/Shelf box, and pressing enter.
- Edit the Event Special Price and Cost Price if required then click the Add/Update
Item button to put the item in the Event's list.
- Items can be removed from the list by selecting the Items' record in the list, then
clicking on the 'Remove Item' button.
- Entire groups can be removed from the list by selecting a Mixmatch Group, then clicking
the 'Remove Group' button.
When you have completed the list a Print Out can be obtained for the Event showing
regular and discounted prices with Special Gross Margins.
- When the entries for the Event are complete, if you wish to update the POS Lanes
immediately, click on the 'Update POS Batch' button under the 'Functions'
Tab option and Send Changes to the Lanes.
(POS Lanes - Send Changes)
This will only work if today's date falls within the range specified. Otherwise
the Polling Scheduler program will
be responsible for applying and removing Events automatically.
- This will update the information in the Store file ready to send to the Register.
- If the Polling Scheduler is running then batches will be applied automatically
by date range to the Store file.
Special prices will then be charged at the POS Lanes for the duration specified.
The special will be ON starting the morning (12:01 AM) of the First Day and persist
until the Last Day, when it will end at (11:59 PM) on the Last Day.
If multiple overlapping special events are in effect, the system will act to protect
the cheapest price for an item on any one event during the process of entering the
items to the database.
To stop a current Event and remove all Special Pricing in effect, change the date
on the Event and then 'Update POS Batch'.
If desired, a new Event
entry can be made for every day of the week, or one event can span a date range.
- Comments can then be entered into the Diary by clicking on the Diary Entry button
and typing in the text.
- Comments will appear on the Daily Summary reports for the same date range.
